Q. Suspension of negotiations with the publisher Oxford University Press: How to access articles published in 2022?
After several years of negotiations, the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries and Oxford University Press (OUP) have not been able to agree on the terms for a transformative Read & Publish agreement. OUP is not willing to move towards the requirements of swissuniversities.
The Consortium has consequently decided to suspend negotiations with the publisher [see Consortium announcement]. Since no deal has been reached for 2022, users of the BCUL and of other Swiss university libraries will no longer be able to access articles published in OUP journals from 2022 onwards. Articles published until the end of 2021 are still accessible.
Swissuniversities and the University of Lausanne recommend searching for the Open Access version of articles, facilitated by installing browser extensions (Unpaywall, Open Access Button ou Core Discovery) in Firefox or Chrome, searching for versions available on institutional platforms (e.g. Serval, Orphee) or requesting a copy directly from the author.
